"Through Analisa’s presentation I not only learned new information about being trauma invested, but for the first time I learned valuable strategies that I could immediately implement into my classroom and begin teaching my second graders. I was able to share with them how they too can be trauma invested by learning how to regulate their own emotions as well as the things their brain needs to be learning ready. Just one week after Analisa’s visit, my students are able to show me with the brain model of their hand what zone they are in, demonstrate healthy ways to calm down through the use of a calm down corner, and practice the 10 things their brain needs in order to learn".

"A quick note to thank all of you for supporting Analisa McCann as she ventures out educating others around her platform of trauma.  She did an excellent job at my school talking to my whole staff about: 1) background of trauma; 2) trauma inducing strategies; and 3) trauma invested strategies.  Teachers loved learning from a person who walks in their shoes daily and can relate to the struggles of teaching academics while taking on the added responsibilities of helping our students in trauma. Analisa spent one-on-one time with seven teachers who have students that they are having a difficult time reaching.  Each teacher felt like they walked away with a least one nugget to use immediately.  Analisa also willingly shared all her resources she spoke about at our meeting and allowed staff to email her with further questions".

"Relevant. Insightful. Relatable. Awesome!  These are all adjectives that my staff used when describing Analisa and her presentation on Trauma Invested practices.  Analisa so graciously shared her knowledge, learning, and resources around trauma from a classroom teacher's perspective.  Her focus on the difference between trauma inducing, trauma indifferent, trauma informed, and trauma invested was especially helpful for my staff.  Analisa's sympathetic and genuine personality shine through when discussing a very emotional topic like student behavior.  It is easy to see why Analisa was selected as the ESD 101 region's teacher of the year"!

"Analisa is one of the most genuine, passionate and empathetic educators I have ever met.  Her selection as the NEWESD 101 Region’s Teacher of the Year is highly deserved, and when given the opportunity to visit her welcoming and inclusive classroom, and to hear her present about the trauma-invested strategies she embraces as she works with her students, is not only informative but truly inspiring.  Every student needs and deserves a teacher like Analisa – she gives her best, so that her students become their best.  Our profession is incredibly fortunate to have her – she is truly the best of us".
